Hello Aren, thanks for the question :).
For some of my subtle moves I made, I'll categorize them as prejury and jury.
Prejury:
-When Jessy was paranoid of a winners alliance, she went to Bryce with that information which was told to Nick and myself. I went to Alex and told him people were paranoid of a winners alliance in order to see if Jessy had spread it to the nonwinners of the game. Thankfully, she hadn't.
-During the Felix vote, Jessy and Perry were trying to split the votes and doing things that I thought were sketchy, specifically because the vote was originally Will and not Felix. I went to Perry to try and throw Jessy under the bus for the all winners alliance rumor. Perry didn't give me much info to work with, which made me skeptical of him. Due to this, I strengthened my connections specifically with Dom, and Jake (knowing he still had Jessy's trust). This is the lead up to what I would say was my first big move, and that is voting out Perry, someone who I felt threatened my safety in the future of the game.
-At the tribe swap, I told Alex that Charley may still be mad at me for going against her the round before. Not even 10 minutes later, Charley approached me for the first time since the beginning of the game. Because of this, I seized conversation with her and Alex for the time being due to fear of information being passed between the two until I could figure out how to handle that. My connection I had formed with Will the previous round saved me from this vote, and I was able to use this to clear my name to Liam (who I had been told by Will believed almost everything, sorry Liam) and hopefully set up for my future plans of working with korors at the merge.
MERGE:
-Going into merge, I reconnected with Domonique because I heard Jessy was trying to target her originally when Jaylen left, and I knew I could use the "hey we voted Perry out together" connection. I also was told by Bryce that she had an idol, and that Jamie also had an idol, so I knew she would probably be a target and I wanted to be on her good side.
-Granted, that connection didn't last long as Jake told me he wanted to try to flush Dom's idol when Will left. I didn't want to vote out Dom, I wanted to vote out Charley because I knew I didn't have a connection with her. So going into this, I was skeptical and just did it so I didn't have to vote Will. After the vote and I found out Jake lied to me, I ran to Dom and threw Jake under the bus for telling me to do it, because I felt Jake was going to try and blame ME for coming up with a plan I didn't want to do. This once again, was to try and clear my name for the upcomming vote, as I knew I would be in danger for voting in the minority.
-Piggybacking onto the last move, when I went to Dom, I also went to Zach, the other Will voter and proposed a deal with him. I told him that we were going to get the target off of our back together, and that I wasn't going to vote him for being out of the loop if he didn't vote me. I feel this strengthened our bond.
-My name was originally a target for when Seth left, however, I talked to people, specifically Jessy and Jake in order to get the target off of my back. I wanted to look like I could be used as a vote for them, and that I didn't care as much as I really did. Once my name was nonexistent, Jessy and Jake wanted to split the votes onto Dom, to get her to play her idol. I went with it due to me feeling like I had no options.
-Jake went to Dom and basically told her to play her idol, from that point on, I realized that what I was planning on doing from the start needed to happen, and that was... I needed to flip on Jake and Jessy, but I also didn't want Jake or Jessy out. The reason behind this was that if I could get out, say Charley for example... I could still have Jake and Jessy to flip back to if it got tough on Dom's side. This did end up working out for me later in the game, just with different people. I was talking up Dom and added to a chat with Jamie, Liam, Dom, Zach, and myself. From when I had made my bond with Zach during the Will vote, I used this to talk up how I would be loyal to them.
-I'm splitting this into two because there was a lot of thought process behind this vote and the first bullet happened before immunity. I decided to inact a new strategy here and that was what I called the "Play like a bitch" strategy. An example of the "Play like a bitch" strategy was with Alex. Alex had told me he wanted to go after Dom, but told Dom he was with her. I told Alex "you're right Alex, we need to go after Dom", but went straight back to Dom and told her it was ridiculous. Alex won immunity this round which made his target go out the window. I wasn't going to waste the opportunity, so I went for Jessy. Jessy was close to Jake AND was close to Charley. I knew if Jessy was gone, I break up the duo of Jake/Jessy AND take out who Charley seemed to be closest to as well. This did not work out for me, as Jake did end up leaving, but in the next bullet point is how I got myself out of it.
-BUT BEFORE JAKE LEFT.... I'm going to mention a subtle move that was giving power in the form of idol clues. Alex told Jessy an idol clue, but he told me a different idol clue, so I told Domonique to ask Alex for the idol clue to see who he was lying to. Alex told Dom the same clue he told me, so I concluded he was probably lying to Jessy.
-Since Alex had tried to play both sides when Jake left, and I felt that Jessy had lost one of her duos, Alex was the next target for me. Granted, Jessy had her own reasonings for targeting Alex, but mine was to hopefully prevent him from trying to take Charley to the end.
-This is the move that I'm being questioned about and that is taking out Charley. Jessy had made a final 3 with Charley and I called Jake's Angels, but counteractively, I made a final 3 with Zach, Liam, and myself. I knew Charley was going to be seen as Jessy's goat, and if I went to a final 5 scenario with Charley and Jessy, I would've probably made the end, yes, but been seen Jessy's goat as well, which is exactly what I wasn't in this game. My decision to vote out Charley was also solidified when I talked to Jessy and she said she would rather get rocked out, then vote Charley out. I knew 100% that she thought she was in control, and I fought to change that.
-At final 5, I realized that Zach was not only playing a well rounded game, but also a very strong KOROR left in the game. I wasn't sure how the early jury members (Like you and Micah) would vote in the final tribal. There was a thought in my mind that you may just vote for Zach due to him being a koror, and I wanted to make sure that if I made it here, I fought the "703" and "Koror" labels. I tried to use this as a way to patch things up with Jessy after taking out Charley, and it just so happens that Liam, Jessy, and I all had the same idea point and that was that it was in our best interests for Zach to go.
-Although we did not get to this tribal, once I tied with Liam for immunity, I knew I could lose and be in danger of getting 4th and I DID NOT want that to happen. I went to Liam and made a deal with him. Both of us had worked very hard for immunity so why couldn't we theoretically both have it? Jessy had her friends on the jury as well and I thought with Jessy gone, it would open up some of her supposed locked votes. Jamie leaving did ensure I made the finals, so this plan was never tested but I thought it was important to mention.
Thanks for asking me this Aren and if you want to know more on my thought processes, you may ask here!!
Incredible answers. Good job, Grace.
