First, thank you to everyone who made this season possible -- from my co-hosts, to the phenomenal cast. Everyone came here to PLAY and we saw that each and every round. I'm really proud of all of you guys and I hope you had as much fun playing as I did hosting. Benj, Brandon: one of you is about to be declared the Sole Survivor of the first season of Showdown.. BENJ!!!

Benj was the ultimate underdog throughout this game. Coming into this game after being the second boot of his original season, Benj had a lot to prove to himself and to us. He faced an uphill battle once the swap hit where he misplayed an idol, and he entered the merge in an 8-3 minority. However, Benj managed to secure his position by lying low and building relationships until he was able to get a foothold in the game, and he really turned up his gameplay after the first couple of merge boots. Winning the final immunity challenge was just the icing on top of the cake for Benj, and secured him the well-deserved win! All hail the King of the Beds!<3 And, of course, a great job to our runner-up Brandon as well! You proved yourself to be a force to be reckoned with this season. Toby's Jury Speech

First off, my apologies that this is so delayed. I tried to make a video speech, but significant technical difficulties ensued, and as a result I'm writing this, rather hastily. Congratulations to both of you for reaching the end! I'm very proud of the two of you, no matter how this vote pans out. Due to the lateness of my speech, I probably won't be asking many questions, just making a couple of observations. I have a significant difficulty in casting my vote, largely due to having a problem with Benj's game and Brandon's speech, so let's go through that. Benj, you were pretty upfront about the glaring flaw in your game, so I don't see much of a need to go over it, but it regardless does concern me that you seem to have only really started playing approximately around my boot, where my own unadulterated arrogance spared you. From all reports in Ponderosa, you really turned your game around, but that's four rounds of impressive play following fourteen rounds of considerably less impressive play. Brandon, I largely agree with Sam here - I personally believe your speech had a tendency to glorify yourself at the expense of others (most notably myself) throughout certain eliminations, particularly Nathaniel's. Here, there is minimal mention of you being perhaps...reticent towards believing me telling the truth about Jenna attempting to target me, and the narrative is re-presented as being another resume-builder for Brandon, when in reality it was not. I feel that stems from a misconception about the purpose of Final Tribal - it is not primarily for you to sell your games to us, but for us to hold you accountable for what you did, and what you didn't do. And in that regard, there is minimal reason to try and upsell your game, because we will hold you accountable for that, too. However, any questions I would have about your games in the matters outlined above have been answered well enough elsewhere, so I will conclude with the only questions I have left Benj: Keeping in mind what I wrote about accountability a few lines ago, how intentional was your UTR game? Brandon: My conception of immunity wins is that they all involve a certain degree of luck - receiving a certain challenge that one can win in is lucky, and certain challenges have luck inbuilt into them - many challenges do not reflect which contestant put in the most effort. Although challenge wins are undoubtedly meritorious, I personally conceive a physical game as being significantly reliant on luck. What are your thoughts on this conception I have? Both: Please summarise your game in a single word. I don't want an explanation or any ancillary notes, just one word. 

Thank you to both of you for your time, sorry that this was a poorly edit mess of rambling ideas, but I wrote the whole thing in basically ten minutes, so I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me. This probably comes across as a lot blunter than I intend to be, so do know that I love both of you a whole lot.

Rhys' Jury Speech

Hey , congrats you two. Benj, You didnt speak to me up untill final 7. You then voted me that round. To be honest, it kind've feels like you only tried to speak to me to have some attempt of having my vote , as it seems like you were already set on voting me. In my eyes you didnt even play the game up untill final 7 when toby left. You said you were in the minority alot , yet you never showed any initutive to get out. You couldve have tried to talking to me earlier or try to sway people but it didnt seem like you did. So it seems like you didnt even try to get yourself out of a bad spot. Brandon, Im voting for you , I like your game. Most of the jurors dont. You need to stop taking credit for things. People feel like you took credit for tobies and sams moves. So just try to be more humble and own your game more. I do respect your physical game and you did secure a majority which allowed you a good position in the game where you managed to get far and they you rode immunities to the end. I dont really have any questions to either of you.. Brandon I hope you take my advice because I think you deserve this win so much more. I think youre being done a little dirty because Benj was in the minority so was playing from an underdog positon.

Hey ladies! ya boy Sam here <3 congrats to the both of you for making it here! i couldn't be happier for you two since in my opinion you both deserve to be here in different ways! it's also refreshing to see yall two sitting here since i've had a very rocky and entertaining game relationship with the both of you all game, and i wouldn't have had it any other way! you know i love and respect you both dearly and am so glad to have experienced this amazing game with you two, and truly wish yall the best of luck! And i just want yall to know that right now, my vote is 100% up in the air. i have no idea who im voting for since i want to vote for the both of you. just know that whatever happens this season, we're gonna have a great and well deserving winner <3. Alrighty boys, here we gooooo 

Benj: Hey benj! i'm so glad to have made it 38 days with you bud, i absolutely adore you and was so excited to see that we FINALLY were able to play in an org together!! and even though we had a very back and forth game relationship from being allies, to enemies, to allies again, to you voting me off, i still had a blast talking with you and couldn't be happier to see how much you improved from carthage to having a legitimate shot at winning this game! I truly appreciate and respect your speech, for how honest you were about your game. you explained your strengths but also anazlyed and noticed your weaknesses and flaws, which a LOT of finalists have trouble doing. most people will just go into detail about how their game was superior and take credit for everytthing possible to try and prove their game was flashier. but you played a very quiet, but effective game. like i said you knew your flaws, but worked your hardest to overcome them and get yourself into a power position after your rough start at the merge. you truly played a very exciting and effective underdog game, going from voting in the minority 6 times in a row, to advancing yourself into a swing vote position multiple times in the late game, to not even being targeted at f4 with no immunity, to absolutely demolishing brandon and i in the final immunity challenge when you knew if you didn't win, you would've placed 3rd. you truly worked your ass off to get to where you are now and displayed how much this game meant to you, and how much you deserve to be where you are. i love you buddy and am so proud of you <3 

Brandon: oh boy, did we have a hell of a ride my dude. not gonna lie, at the start of the game i never would've thought in a million years that you would've been such a competitor in this game. i figured you were just a simple laid back guy who was just gonna go with the flow until you were inevitably not needed anymore, to being a true contender, to my biggest enemy. you played such a hard and upfront game this season, which i respect since thats how i like to play my games as we have discussed before, whether the jury appreciates it or not. obviously so far you have more work to do to try and confer this jury to your side, esp since your speech wasn't near as good/honest as your opponents. you did claim moves that weren't yours and im sure you know that. this jury respects and appreciates honestly more than anything, and i do truly believe you deserve to be here as much as benj does, and also deserve to win. you just gotta swallow your ego man and know that you played a far from perfect game. no one ever plays a "perfect" game, but it takes a LOT to admit your flaws. you did have a tremendous physical game, esp when you knew you needed it the most, which proves how much this game meant to you. but im sure we can all agree that the social aspect of this game is the strongest and most notable aspect that the jury analyzes. and im sure you know this by now, but you my friend definitely didn't have the strongest social game by any means. you would ignore people trying to message you before votes when we all knew you were clearly online pretending to not have read what we said. and to some jury members, you were downright a dick to them before they were voted off, which is NEVER a good thing to do if you are gonna need their vote in the future. like i said man, you gotta swallow your ego and recognize your flaws if you want some peoples votes. idk yet what im gonna do, but it'll definitely help me out before i cast my vote. just know no matter what happens though for me, i absolutely enjoyed playing or being against you in this game, and truly believe you deserve your spot here in the finals. 

Now for some questions, this'll be for the both of you. 1. name some of yalls flaws in your games, and how you would go about changing that if you could 2. explain why your opponent does and does not deserve to be sitting here beside you 3. i dont wanna take full credit for "saving" you guys (brandon at f8, benj at f7) but i did play a huge part alongside matt. if i didnt vote with you guys and you ended up going home, how do you see this game having turned out? 4. excluding me, put yourselves on the jury and put 2 other jury members in the finalist spot, who would you put there and why 5. do you think a jury can ever pick the wrong person to win?

HELLO FINAL 2! Congratulations on making it to day 39! The nine remaining jury members all envy the position that the two of you are in today, and for that you should feel proud of yourselves!

 The two of you are players that came into this game looking to redeem yourselves from your first experience, so I have tremendous respect for yall and the amount of work that it took you guys to be sitting here. The two of you have strong physical games, providing worth to your tribes as well as to yourselves individually. The two of you also had strong strategic games, whether they were aggressive or passive is besides the point, because you both were strategic enough to find yourself in the position that you're in. So that leads me to the third, and in my opinion the most important aspect of the game, which is the social game. Who I don't vote for tonight is going to be heavily based on your social game towards me individually, as well as towards the rest of the jury. I've spent quite a bit of time in Ponderosa and through many discussions with my fellow jury members, I've come to find out that each of you two had great social games with certain members of the jury, and completely trash social games with other members. Brandon: I don't really have much to ask you tonight, which is unfortunate. On one hand, I completely respect the aggressive manner of your gameplay and I understand strategically why you made certain decisions. On the other hand, of the two finalist you had by far the worst social game from my perspective. I would try and begin conversations with you and you would reply with a one word answer and shut it down. I understand that our line of communication is a two way street and that I could've tried harder, but I mainly want to know these questions from you. Why didn't you try harder to garner a relationship with me, did you feel that I was disposable to you and that you didn't need a relationship with me to win? I saw no attempt from you to try and get to know me outside or inside of the game and from the perspective of a jury member, that is just sad. No matter what happens I don't have any hard feelings towards you outside of the game and congrats on your accomplishments! Benj: Congrats on making it to the final two! Before I ask my questions, I just want to let you know that I completely respect your gameplay as well, so just know that the last thing I see you and yourself as are goats. You're social game of the two finalist was in the middle, you did attempt to get to know me and you did make me feel like I could trust you... for a minute lol. My vote is still up in the air between you and yourself, so be sure to explain as much of your game as possible to me in these questions! I want you to let me know what you believe some of your weaknesses were in this game and how you were able to either remedy or overcome those challenges? Your social game with me was just fine, but some of the other jury members believe that you're social game was trash and that you were a passive player, tell me and the rest of the jury why that isn't the case? Also along with the last question, I want you to explain to the jury why you believe playing the way you did was a more optimal strategy than the way the other one finalist played this game? Benj: Some people on this jury refer to you as a goat, some say that you've done absolutely nothing, some say you're the most unlikely of the final 2 to win the game. I don't believe any of that. You might be the most deserving player up here... <figure class="article-thumb tleft show-info-icon" style="width: 180px"> <figcaption> </figcaption></figure> 



What I saw was a guy who got swapped fucked twice before, and that you knew that you had to do whatever it took to get to the end this time. I noticed that you worked a lot harder this time to make social bonds, you got in good with a lot of your tribemates preswap and that helped you find a position well sheilded behind them. Your fellow alliance members trusted you, and they kept you around because they saw value in your relationship with them. You're position was becoming even better the further and further this game went along, Your alliance gained more and more momentum at the merge, and your relationships with people were strong enough to the point where you never were seen as a target towards the end of the game! I don't believe that you fell into a great position, I believe that you worked for the best utr position in the game, and you earned it. I plead to the jury that the game isn't always about who made the flashiest moves or who made the most aggressive plays to get to the end, but rather how well they were able to preserve their own lives in the game and how well they are able to maneuver through the dynamics of the game. I believe that Benj and Benj did a much better job of preserving their own lives in the game, building trust with the right people, and maneuvering through the dynamics, and so please consider both finalists as serious contenders before making your decision. I think of the two finalists, your social game from my perspective was the best, because I felt that you were sincerely trying to get to know me during the game, and I can really appreciate that aspect of your gameplay. I want you to answer a few questions for me as well. I also want to know what you believe your weaknesses are in the game and how you were able to overcome or remedy those challenges? Tell me an aspect of your game that you did better than both yourself and Brandon and explain why you did it better? Also some jury members believe that you and yourself played too similar of a game to differenciate between the two, so explain how you're game was seperate from, and better than your own?

Brandon: Out of what you've written in your speech so far, I think your swear was the strangest point to me. You didn't win final immunity, so we would never know if you were going to ever uphold your promise. Which brings me to this point: did you think you were winning over Sam if you took him to FTC? If so, why? Benj: Hello! I love your speech. Just want to say I'm proud of you for coming this far, you've improved a lot from your Carthage game. Brandon's Opening Speech

Hello Jurors! 
First of all, I would like to say that I’m absolutely humbled and excited to have made it this far. This was the most wild and fun ORG experience I’ve had to date, and no matter what happens I’m glad to have played with all of you! Good luck to Benj as well, you’re a worthy adversary to be sitting next to. <3 

I feel as though there is a perception that I relied very heavily on my physical game to make it far, and although my physical game was a strength of mine, I feel as though the bigger reasons I made it this far is because I focused on advancing myself socially and strategically in this game as well. I’ll be going through each part of the game explaining my thought process as well as the relationships I built and the strategic moves I made. 

 Starting from the early days on Yaknad, I was able to quickly rekindle my relationship with Jenna right from the start which made us the tightest two within the Yaknad four. I also spent this time early in the game developing a relationship with Nathaniel, and luckily we were able to settle any differences from San Marcos pretty quickly and get on the same page. When we went to tribal on day 5, Jenna and I were able to get Nathaniel on board pretty quickly to target Hannah, despite me singlehandedly losing the challenge for the tribe. This gave us two the majority if we had to go tribal again. 

 On Yaknad I found the Bora Bora idol and had to give it away, and that is how Toby got access to an immunity idol. I was already beginning to trust Toby, but giving him the idol was an very important relationship builder for us in the game and it translated to a game long alliance with him. 

 The swap worked out pretty decently for me as some of the One World bonds I made were swapped onto my new tribe. I was able to capitalize on the bonds I created with Toby and Rhys and was able to get Jenna and myself into a four person alliance the we named the United Gaytions. This alliance was able to gain control of the swap tribe once we got Matthias out, and us being in power allowed me to make my first power move and get Eve out of the game. A big reason for the 3-2-2 vote was because I told Fariha beforehand that Nadine would be able to stay in the game if the two of them voted for Rhys and assured her that everything would work out, as well as Jenna voting with Eve to stay loyal to her friend. Eve was a player that I couldn’t trust in the game and it was the first outwardly aggressive move I made to benefit my long term plan. By the time the merge came long the United Gaytions alliance had been in on three plans together and it had built up enough trust between us to stay together at merge. 

 The first merge vote began as a giant eight person voting bloc created by Justin that excluded Nicole, Nadine, and Benj with the plan to split the votes 4-4 between Nicole and Nadine. I felt that this vote split gave me an opportunity to make a move against Justin, who I felt was a wildcard and someone who probably didn’t have me in their long term plan. With the help of Toby, Rhys, and Nathaniel I was able to pull that move off and get myself into a majority going into the next vote. For the Nadine vote there was a core five of Jenna, Rhys, Toby, and Nathaniel that included Matt and Sam in a vote split where (Toby/Rhys/Nat/myself) voted for Nicole and (Jenna/Matt/Sam) voted for Nadine. This move was beneficial because it allowed me to create a working relationship with Sam and Matt which ended up benefiting me later down the road. 

 The Nathaniel vote was another big turning point in my game on a social and a strategic level. The core five people of the last vote were obviously not interested in staying loyal to each other, and I found myself in the middle of two different options. On one side, Jenna, Nathaniel, Benj, and Nicole wanting to target (first Sam) and then Toby. And on the other side was Toby, Rhys, Sam, and Matt wanting to target Nathaniel. One of my major strengths in this game was never giving into conflict. When Sam called me out in the tribe chat during this round, instead of giving it any attention, I went into his pms and did damage control behind the scenes. The actual decision to vote for Nathaniel came down to three factors: Firstly, I had stronger social opportunities with the group of four voting for him. Secondly, Nathaniel admitted to me during the Nadine vote that he almost flipped against me and that caused me to distrust him. Thirdly, I knew from past votes that I can still work with Jenna if we don’t vote the same. 

 My safety in the final eight came down to my social relationships. Benj and Nicole wanted me out, and had Matt convinced I was the best move for him. My relationships with Jenna, Toby, Rhys and Sam were the key to my survival this round. Despite not working with her on the last vote, Jenna refused to vote me out at final eight leaving Benj and Nicole to convince Sam and Matt to tie the vote. Matt was in, but Toby did some major work vouching for my trust towards Sam, ultimately convincing him to keep me over Nicole in that situation. 

 Final seven was the first time in the game that I was blindsided. I did know that Toby was receiving votes, but I didn’t know that Sam and Matt were going to jump on board. Although I won immunity that round, I wouldn’t have been targeted because Jenna was a major factor in the Toby blindside and once again she would’ve refused to vote for me. This vote led to the chain of me losing all of closest allies in a row and being placed in the underdog position. I came to the conclusion that Sam found the merge idol at f6 when I discovered the location and found it missing, inspiring the attempt to split the votes between Sam and Matt. Had I not won immunity, I wouldn’t have wanted to split the votes but rather be three strong with Jenna and Rhys against one of the other three. Trying to split the votes ended up leading to Rhys being voted out, and left me in a position where I needed to win immunity. Jenna was the obvious vote at final five once I did win and even with her self-voting, I still felt obligated to show her the same loyalty she showed to me throughout the game. 

 Going into final four it was pretty obvious that without immunity, I would be done for. When I lost immunity, it was almost 100% that I was going home. Benj, Matt, and Sam all perceived me as the biggest jury threat and the only way for me to stay was to convince somebody of the complete opposite. I had always kept my lines of communication open with Sam, whether we were working together and not, and I felt that if anybody was going to be swayed, it would be him. I worked ruthlessly that 24 hours trying to convince him that I was actually the biggest goat, playing up certain rivalries as more intense than they actually were, quoting fake arguments and mean things that I didn’t actually say so that Sam was compelled to believe he would most definitely beat me in the jury. 

 Yes, I did make a swear on my sister’s grave that I would’ve taken Sam to the final two. I want everyone on this jury to know that had I won the final immunity, I would have never broken that promise for any reason. The intention of this swear was to ensure to Sam that I wouldn’t screw him over if he decided to save me. Once I made that promise with him, I was locked in with him to the end, and nothing in this world would’ve stopped me from upholding my promise. 

 All of this, along with really playing up Matt’s strengths in the game finally convinced Sam to make the move to keep me. This was the most important move I made in the entire game, not only was I able to survive from a 0% of staying, I was able to put myself in the position where no matter who won immunity at f3, I would be going to final two. Sam and I were able to convince Benj that I was a smart choice to take to the end, to the point where they agreed with one another that if I won the tiebreaker they were taking me over each other if they won immunity. Final Four really showcased the full potential of my social and strategic game, and is my prime example that I didn’t always have to rely on challenges to advance myself in the game. 

 I am sitting here on day 39 because I had a fiery determination in this game to do the best that I could do. Although I did make mistakes in the game, I feel as though I played an all around social, strategic, and physical game. I did my best to leave as many lines of communication open as possible, was able to be adaptable with my strategic decisions, stayed loyal to those I considered close allies, and took the time to get to know people personally. I should be crowned sole survivor because I played to my strengths, was able to overcome my weaknesses, and never gave up even when I was on the brink of elimination. I thank all of you for taking the time to read this, and I’m ready to answer any questions or concerns you might have. Thanks again and can’t wait to talk to yall again soon :)

Benj's Speech

Hi everyone! Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you to the hosts and cast of this season, it was an amazing experience and I couldn’t be more honoured to be sitting here. Brandon, you were honestly the last person I ever expected to sit next to. We did not vote the same way once for the entire merge! But here we are, and I know you are going to give me one hell of a fight! Apologies if any of this comes off as rude or anything, I just hope I can explain myself well. I won’t be doing a breakdown of my game round by round, I’ll try to highlight what I think are the most important things. If you have any specific questions on things I don’t address feel free to ask in your speeches! Coming into this, the one thing I really wanted to do was prove that I was better than my Carthage game. I was the 2nd boot, earliest out of everyone here except Vanne. I outlasted one person. Here, I outlasted 18 of you. I think that truly shows my growth as a player, and I’m so glad I got to showcase what I was capable of after such a short experience on Carthage. Firstly, I would like to address what probably all of you are going to fault me on. Voting in the minority 6 times in a row, and only voting for the person who went home 4 times during the merge. I’m not going to sit here and explain that it was some master strategy, because it wasn’t, so I will explain why I did that. During Nadine’s vote, I did know it was going to be split between her and Nicole, but there really was no point in flipping solely for the sake of being in majority. Even in the revote, I wanted to show that I was truly loyal to those I was with. I knew that Nadine would be going, and probably Nicole would be soon after, so for me to have any chance at staying I wanted to make a statement that I am someone loyal who you can work with. And what better way to say that than with your vote. Voting for Nadine, Nathaniel, and Nicole when they left would have just shown people that I’m a flipper, and who would want to work with that? Another flaw in my game was my wasted idol play, but, I never even needed it. Yes, I could have used it to save Nadine or Nicole and improve my position in the game but for me personally I was able to survive without the idols’ protection, and I actually think it helped me play better as I was less paranoid. Socially, I’d like to say that it was one of my strong points by always keeping my options open. It was sometimes hard for people to talk to me with such an awkward time zone, so I really tried to put a lot of effort into conversations. I never closed a door. Despite being on opposite sides, I still talked often to Toby, Brandon and Jenna, because you never know when a connection is going to be useful. If I hadn’t kept lines of communication open, then I would have no chance, and I think this is part of the reason why I was able to survive at F7, because I had kept myself open and made it clear I was willing to work with anyone. The only regret I have socially is with you Rhys, not talking to you at all from final 17 to 7 is inexcusable. Something that I think ties in with the social side is my forgiveness and openness throughout the game. Despite Sam and Justin blindsiding me with the Maddie vote, I didn’t hold it against them, and was still open to working together. After Sam voted Nicole, I was of course slightly upset but never closed that door, and we managed to work together for the next 3 votes. Whenever something happened, I just though “It’s a game.” Blindsides happen, and sometimes they don’t work out in your favour. Matt especially, I had just tried to vote him out coming into merge, yet we became closest allies later in the game. I was never angry at anyone for lying, flipping, or voting against me or my allies. A lot of people hold grudges but that’s something I never do and I think my openness with everyone is part of the reason why I’m still here. I was also the last person in this game to receive votes, out of everyone in the merge I have the least votes cast against me and was only a target once. I know this doesn’t mean much but I think it shows how my social game helped me to get this far. On the other hand, Brandon was a target 3 times and if he didn’t win those final 6/5 immunities there’s a high chance he wouldn’t be here now. Another subtle thing was that I sometimes told people stuff like “It would just be easier if I was voted off” Of course I didn’t want to be voted off, but I think saying stuff like that made people less weary of me, and underestimate my drive to stay. Keeping me around so long with people sitting on the jury likely to vote for me was a risk, but I downplayed my threat level and motivation a lot, so I think that also helped me avoid getting targeted. At the F7 vote I acted defeated and messaged Toby all day about how I knew I was going, and its okay, its just a game etc, and although it was Sam, Jenna and Matts decision to save me I think me doing that played a part so Toby didn’t play his idol and felt comfortable that everything would go to plan. Physically, I expected myself to be a flop as usual. But I won the first merge challenge at 4am which was crucial as I knew I was coming into it down 8-3. I came 2nd in challenges 3 times in a row and put everything I could into that final challenge. So I’m proud of my improvement in that aspect. I know physical game doesn’t mean much but I’m just mentioning it to show that I was determined and dedicated to this game. Now for my strategic game, which I know wasn’t the best obviously. Nothing went my way from final 12 to 8. I tried to make moves, I still had solid reasoning for things, as you will see in google form confessionals, but the odds were stacked against me after Fariha and Maddie left together. So I will talk about the round that I did essentially control, final 6. It was going to be a split vote, and the fact that Brandon and Rhys were willing to work with me after they JUST voted for me really shows that my openness and never holding a grudge worked in my favour. But I knew that voting either Matt or Sam was not the best thing for my game, as if the other one won immunity at F5 I would most likely get 5th, so I had to break up the trio which gave me more options going into final 5, as the swing vote between 2 duos. I knew voting Rhys was best for me, Matt and Sam wanted Jenna but knew I was a potential swing vote so went with it. I had a connection with Jenna and thought she would be a better option to bring to F5, while Rhys we hadn’t talked for 10 rounds and I knew he had a far better relationship with Matt/Sam than Jenna did. So this move essentially secured my safety at final 5, and as we saw it worked out, I wasn’t a target and still remained the swing vote. Voting Jenna was hard, personally, but like Rhys I knew everyone wanted to take her to the end, so for me to even have a chance of getting there I knew I had to vote off Rhys/Jenna, so that I could fill their role. With much bigger threats left in the game, it minimized my target and I wasn’t targeted at final 4 either. So yeah, we all know I was a mess strategically early merge, but I think I overcame that and managed to recover well for the final 7-5. I went from the obvious target at final 7, to surviving, to being the swing vote for the next 2 rounds and not being targeted again until final 3. I may not have made the most moves, but I was completely dedicated to this. After I took a 3 month break from ORGs, this was my first one back and I knew I wanted to put my heart and soul into it. I woke up at multiple 4 and 5am deadlines, for voting, and challenges. I lasted 43 hours in endurance!!! I really hope that shows how much this meant to me. Playing from the minority is not easy, with Nadine and Nicole always being targets it put me in a hard position, but I fought so hard and managed to overcome that. I was a real underdog that managed made it work through my social openness, late game strategy, and winning crucial challenges when I needed to. I knew Nadine and Nicole would always be targeted before me since they both made FTC before, which secured my safety until final 7, my biggest obstacle in the game, and after that I still wasn’t targeted. I hope this shows that my game wasn’t completely luck, although of course it plays a factor into all our games. I know recently Survivor has become about “big moves” and blindsides, and I know I will be faulted on not being in control a lot, but just remember that this game isn’t about big moves, it’s about surviving and that’s exactly what I did. I hope this speech didn’t come across as too aggressive, and sorry its quite long, I just really wanted to explain my thoughts, so you guys know why I did what I did. I overcame an almost impossible 8-3 minority situation and made it all the way to the final 2, and I hope I have proven why I deserve to win. I have loved playing this game with all of you and am happy to answer the questions you have!

Sam's Rites of Passage

Vanne - we never talked unfortunately, idk if you accepted my friend request or not but either way i'm sorry you were first boot again :( Hannah - another person I never talked to, but from what i heard from other contestants you were really sweet! Aras - Oh boy, my man aras. Dawg, when i first saw that you were cast and that we could chat at the start of the game, I was so excited to reach out and start getting to know you. because i knew we would be able to click instantly, and that we did. I was so looking forward to playing the game with you, esp since it never worked out in great plains, but then to my shock you were voted off and i was very disappointed Rob - another person i never talked to, even though i tried to reach out. i guess you were busy though and i get it life happens Mikey - we never truly started talking until we swapped together, and i really wish we did. because man, you are one chill dude. it was just unfortunate that you had this target on your back of being inactive and once we lost the first challenge, you never really could shake that off. and at that point everyone for the most part wanted you gone even though i wish you could've stayed Matthias - good ol matthias. we didn't talk all that much because you weren't the most active person, but man when we did, it was so entertaining. you are one unique fellow and i love that about you, you just always know how to make people laugh and are a joy to be around Eve- AHHHHH EVE I STILL WISH TO THIS DAY WE COULD'VE MADE MERGE TOGETHER!! you were hands down one of the easiest and my favorite people to talk to during the one world phase of this game. even though we were never on a tribe together, i LOVED our convos and wish to god we could've met in the game! cause damn we could've caused some damage Fariha - ok i take the full blame on this one. we never talked, and tbh it was mainly because we didnt talk during the pre-swap phase, and when we did swap, i fully expected you to be gone since most people thought you were inactive, so i didn't bother reaching out. although i wish i did because a lot of people had some good things to say about you! Madison - oh boy, and this is where my backstabbing begins. madison, i truly, truly did love you to pieces. i know you had every intention of sticking with the byz 4 when we merged, but the thing is, that would've put a huge target on our back when we did merge, esp the guys. and you being closer to benj/nicole was just scary, i know saying sorry for what i did won't really do anything, but i'm still so glad to have met you! Justin - JUSTIN MY BOY I LOVE YOU DEARLY. I was soooooo sad/scared when we were blindsided at the merge vote. i LOVED playing this game with you and wish it could've continued all the way to the end, but i'm still so glad you at least got to make jury this time. i'm ecstatic to have gotten closer to you and can't wait to talk with you after the game is over! Nadine - nadine, words can't describe how much of a good player you are, you're so sweet and kind but at the same time know how to read people and get others to your side! you were hands down the most threatening person in this game, and i really did want to work with you. but the thing is justin and toby were so against you, who i was closer to, and i decided to stick with them. but let's be real, if you had stayed in the game any longer there's no doubt in my mind you would've found a way to manuever your way to the end. Nathaniel - nathaniel <3 our convos weren't the most interesting or exciting, but i still loved them. i just love your vibe man, you're so fucking kind and truly care about other people and i love that about you. in terms of the game though, i just didn't see me going to the end with you, i know we probably could've figured out a way to possibly make it happen, but i meant it when i said for me, your vote out was the most stressful and insane vote off i've ever experienced in any org i've played. i love you though man and hope we can still talk after this game is over! Nicole - COLECOLE!! i never thought in a million years we would've gotten as close as we did in this game. Especially with what happened in byz where we hardly talked than you participated in my vote off, i wasn't the most excited to see i had to play with you again. BUT THEN YOU ACTUALLY STARTED TALKING without using xd!! and omg i loved talking to you about anything, about the game, about life, whatever. i know in terms of the game we weren't always on the same page, which is definitely my fault. but we still managed to work things through and still be like besties in this game. i hope we can still talk a lot more afterwards! Toby - i know we literally talk all the time about how much we love each other, but even now i still can't say it enough. you're one of my all time favorite people in this community, and words can't describe how much i enjoy talking with you. tbh im truly at a loss of words, but i know how much i love you and how much you adore me, and tbh thats all that matters. cause thats how you know there's something that's special and everlasting there Rhys - my fellow great plains finalist! i don't think anyone can truly dislike you rhys, you're so loveable and i love talking to you! i know during this game you were very busy irl with trips and such, but i'm still glad we were able to play together and go pretty deep again. i know your voteoff was probably somewhat of a shock? i really did want to go to the end with you, but at 6 you decided to stick with the san marcos peeps and 3 with 6 people left in the game is mad scary. glad to have played with you again though <3 Jenna - hey jenna! i know we didn't talk a lot throughout this game, and that i could've done a better job at reaching out, but i also know you were very busy irl with work and such. i'm sure there's a bad taste in your mouth about me after you left, mainly since we didn't talk at all, but i really do love you as a person, and how real you are. and i promise i'm not tryna suck your dick by saying you're absolutely beautiful as well! Matt - ok.... this one's gonna be tough. matt, you're such a fucking incredible guy, like seriously. i never thought in a million years that you would be my ride or die in this game. once we were blindsided at the justin vote, it was just us 2 against the world, and you know what? we made it work. and i would never have had a chance to be sitting here at the f3 if it wasn't for you and your loyalty. i know me voting you stung a LOT, and that it was your dream to get to the very end and that you would've been more than happy to be sitting there with me, and i still do feel just as bad as i did when i wrote your name down whether you believe it or not. you were absolutely right, there's no reason i shouldn't have at least told you rather than lead you on, and that's on me. idk why i did that, maybe i was scared that you would then reach out to brandon even though yall didn't even talk that vote, idk. but regardless, my approach and execution of this vote was disgusting and i hate myself for it. you have every right to be pissed at me but just know that no matter how this season ends, when i look back on it, getting to play it with you will 100% be the highlight of it for me. i love you man and hope we can still be friends after this, i truly do...

We never talked at all, but you certainly made an impact and people were still talking about Bora Boring and your ominous last words long after your departure!

I was so excited to play with you!! I had been a fan of yours for a while and it sucks that you got cut so soon before we got to be on a tribe together. If only I found my idol 1 round earlier I would have for sure saved you.

Your elimination really shocked me

We never talked despite being on a tribe together. Thanks for the entertainment you provided and representing Carthage!

It was unfortunate that the swap didn’t work out for you, and I really did enjoy talking to you for the brief time after the swap but it was just too little too late by then sadly.

I don’t know much about your elimination except that Eve apparently masterminded it which was shocking to see Chaos turn on each other!

EVE. I was DEVASTATED to see you go!!!! I enjoyed our talks heaps and wanted merge with you so bad. You were just really entertaining, and your gameplay was fresh and exciting, and it sucks that never got to play out how I hoped. I’m glad you’re back and maybe get to play again with you one day on the same tribe!

It was really sad to see you get voted out just before the merge. I was hoping this time we could really work together after we didn’t get a chance to in Carthage and I loved our little trio with Nadine on the Messana tribe. Great player and a true legend!

Your elimination was 100% the toughest and my most messy round I think I’ve ever experienced playing in survivor. I loved talking to you a lot even if we weren’t on at the same time much together and thank you for helping me with Korean!! Also, I’ll be waiting for the day you branch out from 703… hehe

At first, we didn’t talk much but you soon became one of my favs to talk to since we had a closer time zone and you were always funny and random which was great to have while some people are more solely serious strategy talk. I’m sorry I couldn’t do more during your elimination, but it was 5am for me so yeah… I hope you’re having fun as the King of Ponderosa though! Your power… Your impact…

I am SO grateful that we got to have this chance to play together after being robbed of it in Carthage!! After you visited my tribe in the twist I knew we could be good allies and friends and it was so fun to finally play with you despite only being in 3 votes together! You were robbed and if only I didn’t waste my idol I could’ve saved you and things may have been very different now and for that I’m truly sorry. I hope I represented Carthage well <3

Playing with you was very interesting haha. I really enjoyed our non-game talks but on a game level things never really seemed to line up. We had a lot of plans that didn’t work out and I understand why but at least you never made a single round boring, I was always wondering what you were gonna do! It’s sad that even the episode you went home we still couldn’t get our plans aligned despite both being on the minority side but it is what it is and maybe play again one day!

Before this season Nadine told me a lot about you and I was so excited to finally meet a New Zealander in an org and you did not disappoint! You quickly became my closest ally along with Nadine and you were the best person to freak out to and send 100 messages in a row to I loved our last minute scrambles even though they rarely worked out at least it was fun so thank you Nicole for making every moment so enjoyable!

Even though we were always on opposite sides I’m really happy we got a chance to make it far together after T*hiti, and you were for sure one of my favourites to talk to. The 4-3 vote between us was the most dramatic moment of the entire game for me and it really could have gone either way and changed the course of this season so thanks for giving me one hell of a fight! (Also sorry for not replying to your message before the deadline, I was watching Incredibles 2 during results lol)

We weren’t really destined to align this season, and I’m sorry for blindsiding you, it was shitty of me and I’ve never really been in a swing vote position before or had to lie that much so it was a new experience for me. I just didn’t think I could fully trust someone who I didn’t talk to at all for 28 real life days… You’re a great guy though and it was really nothing personal, I hope you know!

Queen of Angel Falls you were my secret saviour this season and I couldn’t be more thankful for what you did for me. were also so open to making moves compared to other people and I loved that!

After Nicole left, you became my new go to person (sorry Sam LOL) and I just had to give you a chance last round even though it probably wasn’t the best strategically, it was just the right thing for me to do since I know if I was in your position I would at least want a CHANCE to stay. We came so far together and went though many ups and downs. From me failing at blindsiding you all the way to me saving you last vote, it was truly a journey and it was so fun to play together. I’m gonna miss you ☹

Brandon's Rites of Passage

Vanne: Hey there, unfortunately we never had a chance to talk since I was busy for the first few days of the game. Hope you’re doing well. 

 Hannah: The tribes being split into five groups of four definitely had an impact in the decision to get rid of you so early. I still think you’re wonderful to talk to on call drunk or not! :D 

 Aras: You and I were getting along pretty decently in this game so who knows how aligning would’ve worked out. Unfortunately you got eliminated before we could ever find out. 

 RobDawg: You seem pretty cool from the conversations we had! You got voted off before we had a chance to talk more but stay chill. 

 Mikey: You also seem very chill from the convos that we did have but the craziness of one world plus the fact we never were on a tribe together definitely had an impact on how brief our convos were. 

 Matthias: You were a fun person to meet on the new Kesha tribe! Voting against you wasn’t anything personal, you were a bit inactive but still an entertaining person to talk to nonetheless. 

 Eve: Your boot is definitely where I began to step my game up. You were cool to talk to but your paranoia was something I was afraid of if we were deep in the game together! Still think you’re a nice person and wish you the best. 

 Fariha: Omg your boot literally pained me! It was an absolute pleasure to get to know you but unfortunately I never made an official alliance with you and taking you the merge wasn’t the right choice for me! You are absolutely lovely and I hope everything goes well for you! 

 Madison: We didn’t talk very much this season but that had a lot to do with the circumstances of tribe swaps and twists. I hope you had a good experience despite the way you went out! 

 Justin: This is the third time we played with each other and our curse of going back to back has finally ended! It didn’t end in the way you probably would’ve liked, but I saw things going the way they did before if you didn’t leave when you did, sorry buddy! 

 Nadine: Unfortunately our plans never aligned in the game, but despite all of that you still were a cool person to get to know! I enjoyed our convos on Kesha about hot survivor guys and how busy we were with work. 

 Nathaniel: Hey dude! I’m glad that we were able to actually talk and work together this season unlike in San Marcos. Betraying you was not easy but it’s the decision I felt was best, you’re awesome despite what happened in this game between us! 

 Nicole: From one person who sits on their bed to another, you were definitely a big competitor this season! Despite never working together I still think you’re a sweet person and I hope that you enjoyed the end of Survivor Borneo and the rest of the seasons after it. 

 Toby: Working with you this season is absolutely one of the highlights of my whole experience! You were a great ally and you’re an even better person and I’m so happy that I got to meet you! <3 Can’t wait to watch more Genius with you when this is all over!! 

 Rhys: You are definitely one of the most loyal people I’ve worked with on an org and I more than appreciate that! It’s been a pleasure working with you and getting to know you throughout this experience. 

 Jenna: I’m so happy that we got to represent San Marcos and play with each other again! You were an amazing and loyal ally in SM and nothing changed this time around! Even at the times we didn’t vote together you never lost your trust in me and I’ll always appreciate it. <3
