On July 10th, due to high demand, it was announced that applications would be open to TAR1 and TAR2 participants as new teams. Additionally, it was announced that Nicole, Matt, and Zachary would join the hosting team. On August 15th, invites were sent out to teams and the cast was finalized shortly thereafter. Twists[]
- Mystery Team: At the starting line, it was revealed that only ten out of eleven teams would start the race in Vancouver, Canada. An unknown eleventh team was stated to "join in due time."
- Hybrid Tournament: At the start of the eighth leg, it was revealed that the mystery team was a hybrid team consisting of two of the first ten eliminated players. While the teams have been racing, these players had faced off in a task tournament to see who would return to the race as a hybrid teams. First, players had to defeat their partners. Then, other racers. Aidan, formerly a member of Team Fat Myths, and Jack, formerly a member of Team Straight Mates, would form the Mystery Team.
